Coastal Community Garden is an incorporated, not-for-profit community group established in 2021 by local residents in Trigg/North Beach/Karrinyup and surrounding areas. The aim of our garden is to provide a safe environment for local people to grow fruit and vegetables and to connect with nature and the community. If you are a local we would love for you to join us to help us grow our garden.
The CCG committee worked with the City of Stirling to identify a suitable site for the garden. This is the unused grassed area adjacent to the North Beach Tennis Club courts at Charles Riley Reserve in North Beach.
The long term objectives of the Coastal Community Garden include:
- Sharing produce grown in the garden with members and the local community
- Community workshops and education sessions
- Enable neighbours to share and exchange skills and knowledge
- Reduce neighbourhood waste through composting/ teaching composting practises
- Increase physical activity of members through garden maintenance activities
- Strengthen social/ community ties
- Encourage environmentally sustainable practises (ie. Refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle)
