What to expect in this issue:

What’s Happening in Our Garden

Artichoke flowering

I wonder who noticed the missing newsletter last month.  I’m sorry about the delay I’m posting this one in its place.

We are looking for more members to not only help in the garden but to share our produce.  These past months we have been reaping the benefits of the wicking bed vegies with produce like: lettuce, tomatoes, egg plants, zucchinis and more.  If you know of anyone who would love to be involved they can register on line through our Membership Application Form where they can sign up and make their payments.  Please also remember to read through our Membership Agreement.

I hope you are been learning and enjoying the many articles throughout our website.

New Members:

CCG would like to thank members who helped with the Bunnings Sausage sizzle.  A great work effort thank you so much.  Thank you to all our active members for their generous contribute to work in our garden and financially.  At present member’s fees continue to go towards establishing our garden.

Up and Coming Events:

A well earned cuppa

We are moving onto Stage 2 of our garden construction in the next few months which includes landscaping and amphitheatre area.  We also have approval for a pergola which once finances come in, will be started too.

Please check out our Facebook page for any up and coming events you might like to get involved in. There’s still lots to do and all hands are much appreciated.  Please remember to bring sun protection, gloves and water.

Mark your calendars for these up and coming events:

  • We are holding monthly gardening day the third Saturday of the month, the next being 16th May at 8:30am.  We are hoping once the weather cools we will return to fortnightly busy bees.  You can keep up to date on our Facebook page.  Don’t worry if you don’t have gloves or gardening tools; there are plenty in our shed.

We will put up notices on our Facebook page of any of our events.  Join us at these activities, make new friends, eat and learn.

Gardening Jobs During Djeran Season:

Learn about what jobs we have suggested for this season on our new Seasonal Jobs page which can be accessed through the GROW page.

What to Plant Now:

This too can be accessed through our GROW page, under the heading Grow in Season then look for DJERAN SEASON – April – MAy.  Here you will also be able to plan ahead and prepare for the Mukuru season (June – July)

I do hope you enjoy reading through our new pages.
